"The Lim Procedure for lateral ankle stabilization is an
advancement in technique and technology. It saves both OR time for
the surgeon and recovery time for the patient due to an innovative
approach to reconstruction of the ATF ligament using current medical
technology for internal fixation of soft tissue. Dr. Lim's
experience in the world of professional athletics and private
practice has proven this procedure to be successful in many patient
populations over the course of nearly ten years of practicing this
technique for lateral ankle reconstruction."

"Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to perform
and assist on a multitude of lateral ankle stabilization procedures.
They have ranged from complex and technically difficult to straight
forward in their execution. But, they all had the same goal of
stabilizing the ankle joint. With this in mind, the implant system
that Dr. Lim has developed is a excellent solution. It has the
advantages of minimal dissection and crafting a new ankle ligament
while keeping the damaged one intact to heal on its own. The
subsequent recovery time is much shorter than the vast number of
other surgical procedures. Thus, allowing the patients to be pain
free and walking sooner."

"As a Certified Athletic Trainer since 1993 and over 10 years
providing care for professional soccer players in the MLS and the
U.S. Men’s National team, I have been fortunate to work alongside
many quality medical professionals. I have experienced first hand
the professionalism, class, and sincerity of Dr. Robert Lim. His bed
side manners and ability to relate to the athletes are direct and
personable and his interest in the game of soccer is genuine. As a
doctor, accessibility and the willingness to understand the demands
of the sport are very important when dealing with professional
athletes and I feel that it’s these qualities that Dr. Lim brings to
the Chicago Fire medical staff. I would recommend Dr. Robert Lim to
anyone in need of podiatric care."

"When I started treating a patient that underwent
The Lim
Procedure for lateral ankle instability I was amazed at how well he
was doing. I have treated plenty of patients that have undergone a
variety of procedures to treat lateral ankle instability. Typically
a patient that undergoes lateral ankle reconstruction would have a
significant period of immobilization along with pain. Within three
weeks post-op, Dr. Lim’s patient was walking without any assistive
devices and reported minimal pain. On the first day of treatment, I
was able to address gait and strengthening and within a couple of
weeks the patient had returned to more activities then he was able
to perform for years prior to surgery. The patient appeared very
happy with the surgical results."

"As a physical therapist, I enjoy working with Dr. Robert Lim’s
patients. Dr. Lim’s caring personality, dedication, and expertise is
evident in his successful outcomes and satisfaction of his patients.
I have noticed a quicker recovery time in physical therapy with
patients of Dr. Lim’s that had the lateral ankle stabilization,
The
Lim Procedure, performed. Patents were able to return to pain free
running as well as other high level athletic activities. I could
recommend any foot and ankle patient to the care of Dr. Lim without
reservation."
